Residential proxies are addresses of real users, not data center servers. Therefore, to a website, you appear as a regular home visitor. You do not receive a list of addresses assigned to you, but access to a shared pool: more than 20 million addresses in 220 countries.

This is the main difference of the format from others. An order is a volume of traffic in gigabytes, and any order is placed for 30 days. How many addresses you use does not affect the cost — only traffic is consumed. If you use it up before the term, you can purchase more volume, and the unused balance is retained upon renewal.

Ready-made addresses are not issued upon purchase — you create proxy lists yourself. A proxy list is a set of conditions by which addresses are selected for you from the pool: country, region, city, and operator, number of ports, and rotation rule. You can create as many lists as you want, each with its own conditions. More details are in the article Creating and managing proxy lists.

The broader the geo conditions, the more addresses fit them. A complete list of available countries with their codes is provided in the article Locations of Residential proxies.

Other formats have a common login and password for the entire account. Residential proxies have their own for each proxy list: access from one list will not work for another. This is the design of the section, not an error — where to get them is described in the article Where to get login and password for connection.

Instead of a login and password, you can allow connection from a specific IP address, but one address is tied only to one list. More details are in the article Whitelist IP: IP authorization.

Rotation is the rule by which an address is changed to another. Available options are “Sticky” — the address stays with you for up to 24 hours, “For each request” — a new address for each request, change every 5, 10, 15, 20, or 60 minutes, as well as your own interval from 1 to 3600 seconds. The rule is set immediately for all lists or separately for each: Address rotation.

Note that “Sticky” does not guarantee exactly 24 hours. Addresses belong to real people, and if the device goes offline, the address will change earlier — this is normal operation of the format, not a failure.

The purchased volume is valid until the date specified in the “Active until” field. How much traffic is spent and how much is left is visible in the account — this is covered in the article Traffic: rate, balance, and validity period. To ensure the volume is automatically renewed and work is not interrupted, enable traffic auto-renewal.

Residential proxies have their own list of restricted resources and ports. It is not published, and access to these resources is not opened — neither after verification nor individually. More details are in the article Restrictions on Residential proxies.
