How to Set Proxy in SocksDroid Step-by-Step

Install and open the SocksDroid app

To start off, download and install the application from websites where it is available, because this application is not offered in Google Play Store anymore. Once installed, open the app to access the main menu.

Select “Server Address” and input the IP or domain name

Tap on the option that states “Server Address” and type inside it the desired IP address or domain name of the proxy that you want to use.

Enter IP Address Details

Once the server address has been configured, click on “Server Port” to type in the port number. This number is usually provided by the proxy provider, so you will not need to worry about sourcing it.

Enable Authentication for Private Proxies

Activate the “Authentication” checkbox on so that you are required to provide a username and password in order to connect.

Input Username and Password

If you are using a private proxy, input your details in the username and password box. This procedure will confirm that you have valid credentials and will allow you to secure your connection.

Turn On Newly Settled Up Connection

To start connecting your device to the proxy server, toggle on the switch located at the upper right side of the application. By doing so, you will initiate the connection through which your smartphone or tablet will be able to start passing requests and responses from the defined server.
